Does it feel like the same crisis keeps coming back?

Crisis → Fear → Rescue → Relief → Hope → Promise → Disappointment → Crisis

The question is not how to control the whole cycle.

It is: Where can I step out this time?

I knew I was enabling. I still did it.

This isn’t about judging what you did. It’s about seeing what happened after you said yes.

You can grieve someone who is still alive.

You can be happy with your life and still be heartbroken that your child isn’t part of it.

And if the phone finally rings, you do not have to decide the whole future in the first five minutes.

Take the decision with you.

Some nights you do not need another chapter. You need one sentence in your wallet before the phone rings.

Print them. Cut them out. Keep one in your wallet, purse, car, or beside your phone.

Why I made this

I’m not a therapist. I’m a mother who lived this.

For years I carried every crisis, every phone call, every dollar, every promise and every fear in my head. I gave money after I promised myself I wouldn’t. I said yes because sometimes saying no felt like losing my child altogether.

I made One Less Thing to Carry because sometimes you don’t need another person explaining addiction to you. You need somewhere to put down what happened, slow yourself down, and figure out what you are going to do next.

You do not have to stop loving your child to start living your own life again.
